Nuit Blanche came and went on Saturday and it marked my life modeling debut for The Keyhole Sessions. Girls. Grease. Rope. was a six-hour long event where I got to pose on the platform with six other incredibly attractive models* while artists drop in to draw us. Since the theme was inspired by a grungy Fight Club-esque Suicide Girls photoshoot, I got to break out the gore-makeup and gave myself and a couple of other girls some black eyes and bloody noses. Hot topless girls? Cuts and bruises? Bondage? What else can you possibly ask for to make this night that much better? A Motorcycle, maybe? Yea… we got one too.

A few people I know were concerned abut the topless factor of the gig. “Why would you want to be part of pornography?” “Aren’t you afraid of being seen as an object?” “But your boobs are personal! OMG THINK OF YOUR BOOBS!” To be honest, I didn’t even think twice about agreeing to model when the opportunity presented itself. I’ve always seen sex and the body to be a natural part of life and certainly not something to be ashamed of. It is only ever degrading if you believe it to be so. If you own it, love it and accept it, how is that showing disrespect to yourself? Posing for a life drawing class was probably one of the best gifts I could have ever given to myself: having the confidence to be that comfortable with my body enough to lend it to the creation of some pretty damn good art. I hope every woman gets to feel this sense of empowerment. It really is rewarding. And besides, I had been spending a lot of time drawing sex doodles and sketching these models in suggestive positions. Isn’t it time that I pay it back to the erotic art community?

To the lovely girls I modeled with: you were all very hot and it truly was a pleasure to be up there with you guys. We did such a great job!

To JP and Lotus Lily: The rope-work was a work of art on its own. The ropes definitely added so much more to our poses. I also want to thank you both for being so mindful and concerned for our safety. It really made the atmosphere a lot more comforting knowing that we were in good hands.

To the artists: Wow. A lot of the drawings I saw that night blew me away. Some of you came up to me after the session to show me what you drew and I was so happy you guys shared the love! The wall of art looked so awesome at the end of the night!

To the Madame: Thank you so much for letting me be a part of this awesome event. I also want to thank you for creating a place for artists in the city to celebrate sexuality without fear or shame. I look forward to every Tuesday evening because I can actually get a good challenge drawing the subject I love best!
